Now he wants to see the rest of the squad turn heads like he has been doing and show that they can battle their way out of trouble near the foot of the Championship table.
And there is no better time to show they are all singing off the same hymn sheet than when they meet Huddersfield Town on Tuesday night in a very important fixture that could go a long way to saving Rovers should they manage a win.
Jones knows this and after being in the side that produced their first win since February 9 with a 2-0 victory over Derby on Saturday, he wants to do it again on Tuesday.
He told Rovers Radio: "It was exactly what we needed, and we know that it is the minimum for us to get out of the situation that we are in.
"Hopefully it will give us confidence going into Tuesday. It brings the group together. In the dressing room afterwards the whole squad was delighted.
"We want to replicate that feeling again, starting this Tuesday in another massive game."
