Sky Sports news claim that the Amsterdam based club have been in contact with Rovers about the centre back to see how the land lies.
The 25 year old is also causing raised blood pressure down south as Southampton are also said to be monitoring the situation.
Speculation has it that Rovers would be prepared to do a deal with either club for the right price.
