Cole hits out at Ince departure

Cole played alongside Ince at Manchester United and also featured with the former Rovers chief at international level with England. He told the Lancashire Telegraph: "If you are only going to give a manager four months in the job you might as well not give them the job in the first place. "There is no such thing as instant success, clubs have to have patience. I know no team wants to come out of the Premier League but for any young manager to succeed they need to be given a chance. "Sam Allardyce has worked wonders at Rovers. But Paul Ince did fantastically at Macclesfield and MK Dons and deserved his chance. "The problem for Paul was he was coming in to replace Mark Hughes, who did a fantastic job at Blackburn. He left because he did not believe he could take Rovers any further and so thought it was a good time to get out."
