Buyers beware, warns Allardyce
lackburn manager Sam Allardyce has warned that any prospective buyers of the club need to be completely sure what they are taking on.[LNB] Two rival consortiums are considering a takeover bid for the club and Rovers boss Allardyce said buyers should be aware that running a football club is a unique business.[LNB]The chaos that has engulfed Liverpool has been a warning to anyone that they need to consider all possible consequences.[LNB]Allardyce said: "You cannot rush anybody into a decision as big as buying a Premier League football club.[LNB]"They have to make sure they know exactly what they are getting into. The last thing you would want to face as new owners is by finding out it was not quite what they thought - which could have a massive effect on how the club is developed and could be a down-side rather than an up-side.[LNB]"Any new owners need to make sure exactly what they are getting into, exactly what is needed and how the business is run.[LNB]"If it's going to happen we hope it happens for the benefit of the club and for me as a manager so that we can get better, stronger and be more successful."[LNB]The Blackburn manager insists that takeover talk is not affecting his players at all.[LNB]Allardyce added: "I don't think it affects the players, it's in the back of your mind and some players' minds if and when it's going to happen, but it doesn't affect you.[LNB]"It's always been there ever since I've been here. The club has always been for sale from the day I first walked in and the chairman told me that.[LNB]"Because recently there has been some interested parties doing some due diligence you do think a little bit more about it."[LNB]Blackburn take on Sunderland tomorrow in their first home match for four weeks with Allardyce stressing the need for victory.[LNB]He said: "We have not played at Ewood for a month, it has been a long time. We want to excite the fans and give them an entertaining game and win three points.[LNB]"We had 13 clean sheets last season and that's one of the things I have talked about, and that we must be more clinical with our finishing.[LNB]"Generally the teams that finished around mid-table last season had a good home record but didn't win enough points away. We were like that and so were Sunderland.[LNB]"I hope for my old mate Steve Bruce that it carries on like that, I don't want to see him coming here and his team producing one of their best away performances and getting a victory![LNB]"We have to be on top of our game and make sure we get back to winning ways at Fortress Ewood."[LNB]David Dunn is expected to play some part for Blackburn after recovering from a hamstring strain but Vince Grella is still missing with the same problem. Keith Andrews is also out after having an operation on a groin injury while Ryan Nelsen is a doubt with a thigh problem.
