The Frenchman has been missing from the side since December when Rovers lost 2-0 to Blackpool.
But on Tuesday Givet was called upon to make a comeback after Grant Hanley picked up a two match ban, Givet lined up in the heart of the defence alongside Scott Dann and had the game of his life.
"He was immense," said Bowyer to reporters. "It was a fantastic performance from him.
"He's a real, real warrior and it was an awesome performance that I think inspired everybody else.
"The club's blessed with three outstanding centre-halves in Grant Hanley, Scott Dann and Gael Givet. Gael's shown his worth."
