Blackburn warn Galatasaray Brett Emerton is not for sale

Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce has closed the door on any prospective move by Galatasaray for midfielder Brett Emerton.

The Australian, 31, had been widely tipped to link up with compatriots Harry Kewell and Lucas Neill in the Turkish capital.

After playing sporadically last season due to a knee injury, Emerton has been playing a full part during Blackburn's preseason tour Down Under.

Allardyce said: 'Brett has never been as physically fit as he is now.

'The trauma of an injury like the one he suffered last season mentally shocked him.

'We hope that he will put those injuries to one side and that he will come through and blossom because we need him in the team.'
