Wigan are again without defender Emmerson Boyce for their Barclays Premier League clash at Blackburn.

The Barbados international has missed the last two games with a hamstring injury and is expected to be sidelined for another 10 days.

Pushing: Steven Gohouri (right) is hoping to force his way in the starting XI

Fellow defender Steven Gohouri, now fully fit after a calf strain, is pushing for a recall, while midfielder Tom Cleverley will hope to continue after making his full debut in last week's loss at Fulham.

James McCarthy is beginning a three-month rehabilitation after undergoing ankle surgery this week.

Provisional squad: Al Habsi, G Caldwell, Stam, Figueroa, Alcaraz, N'Zogbia, Diame, Moses, Cleverley, Thomas, Rodallega, Di Santo, Gomez, Gohouri, Watson, Boselli, S Caldwell, McArthur, Golobart, Kirkland.
