90 + 4 It's all over and Blackburn have a vital three points in their bid to avoid the drop despite coming under some severe Wigan pressure in the second half. Rovers are now six points clear of the drop zone.[LNB]90 + 4 Yet another chance for Wigan as Andrews blocks successive efforts on the line from Bramble and Kapo.[LNB]90 De Ridder cuts in from the left side of the box and forces Robinson into another decent save with a left-footed shot.[LNB]89 There will be four minutes of added time.[LNB]87 Samba heads another long ball into the box clear. It looks like it's too late for Wigan.[LNB]85 Villanueva almost makes an instant impact with a long range effort which flies just over Kirkland's bar.[LNB]84 De Ridder looks to create on the right flank but his cross flies high over Robinson's bar.[LNB]83 Valencia blasts high over the bar from the edge of the box.[LNB]82 That's McCarthy's last contribution, he is replaced by Carlos Villanueva.[LNB]81 McCarthy blasts another free-kick high over the bar.[LNB]79 Givet picks up a slight knock but is quickly back on his feet.[LNB]78 Blackburn change now - Keith Andrews comes on for Grella.[LNB]78 Watson and Figueroa make way for De Ridder and Kapo.[LNB]78 Rodallega's diving header ends up past Robinson's left-hand post.[LNB]77 Daniel De Ridder and Olivier Kapo are getting ready to come on for Wigan.[LNB]75 Rodallega turns well inside the box before drilling the ball at goal. Robinson does brilliantly to get down to it quickly and make s good save with his left hand.[LNB]74 Givet launches the ball upfield after intercepting Valencia's attempted pass.[LNB]73 Samba gets on the end of Pedersen's long throw but his header is saved by Kirkland. Decent effort.[LNB]72 Good ball into the box by Pedersen is turned behind by Figueroa and it's another Blackburn set-piece.[LNB]69 Scharner has picked up a knock and looks in some pain. Looks like an awkward landing after an aerial challenge.[LNB]68 Robinson gets to a high cross into the box before Rodallega.[LNB]66 How are Wigan not back in this game?! Robinson makes a magnificent save from Boyce at point-blank range before he tips away Valencia's drive from 18 yards out. Dunn then has to scramble the ball off the line, incredible![LNB]65 N'Zogbia gets free at the back post but his header is tipped over the bar by Robinson. He should have deone better there.[LNB]64 David Dunn comes on to replace Tugay.[LNB]63 Samba is caught offside from Ooijer's long ball forward.[LNB]62 Rodallega's shot is deflected over the bar as Wigan look for a way back into this game.[LNB]60 GOAL - McCarthy smashes the ball into the front post area and Nelsen only has to glance the ball on and Blackburn have doubled their lead.[LNB]60 Free-kick to Blackburn on the edge of the box on the left. A possible shooting chance here.[LNB]59 Wigan have had the better of the possession in the 15 minutes since the break, Sam Allardyce may be thinking of a change.[LNB]58 Zaki's cross into the box is headed clear by Tugay.[LNB]56 Watson almost brings Wigan level but his powerful angled drive is turned away well by Robinson.[LNB]55 Kirkland comes for a high ball but misses it again, this time Samba can only direct his header wide.[LNB]54 It's more of the same from Blackburn in the second half - plenty of high balls forward in the direction of Samba.[LNB]53 Bramble turns a ball forward by Andre Ooijer out for a throw.[LNB]51 N'Zogbia races forward but his final pass lets him down. A real waste.[LNB]50 Nelsen looks to have bundled over Zaki but a free-kick is given the other way.[LNB]49 Scharner's free-kick is too long for his team-mates and floats out for a goal-kick.[LNB]48 Warnock makes a late burst into the box but his first touch is too heavy and allows Kirkland to gather.[LNB]46 Amir Zaki is on for Mido as Wigan restart the game at Ewood Park.[LNB] Half-time from Sky Bet - "Blackburn took a deserved lead on the stroke of half time thanks to Benny McCarthy who had been popular with the punters for the first goal. McCarthy is 17/2 to score the 2nd goal of the match and maybe save Blackburn from the threat of relegation!" Match odds - 3/10 Blackburn 16/5 Draw 8/1 Wigan[LNB]45 + 2 The half-time whistle goes and Blackburn have a just about deserved advantage as they look to avoid the drop.[LNB]45 There will be two minutes of stoppage time.[LNB]45 GOAL - Finally Blackburn make the most of all their high balls into the box. McCarthy gets on the end of a really good corner before Kirkland and nods the ball into the net. 1-0 Rovers.[LNB]45 Tugay's shot from 25 yards out is deflected wide for a corner to Blackburn.[LNB]43 McCarthy is flagged for offside as he chases Tugay's through ball.[LNB]41 Valencia looks to send Mido through on goal but Ryan Nelsen makes a good block.[LNB]40 Figueroa's cross floats into the arms of Robinson.[LNB]39 N'Zogbia delivers the free-kick and Figueroa's header comes off Pedersen and behind for a corner.[LNB]38 Free-kick to Wigan this time as Mido is bundled over by Warnock.[LNB]37 Pedersen takes the free-kick but blasts it well over the bar. Really poor.[LNB]36 Samba gets to the ball before Bramble who trips the striker and Blackburn have a free-kick.[LNB]35 Wigan break quickly but Figueroa's cross is cut out by Gael Givet.[LNB]33 Samba's cross takes a deflection and Kirkland gathers.[LNB]32 Grella miskicks the ball and it lands in the arms of Kirkland. There hasn't been a great deal of quality in this game so far.[LNB]30 Samba wins the ball in the air but only succeeds in directing the ball out for a goal-kick.[LNB]29 Another long throw into the box but this time a foul is committed somewhere and Wigan have a free-kick.[LNB]27 Ben Watson has a good chance to open the scoring for Wigan after a good move. Figueroa lays the ball off for Watson inside the box but, under pressure, he blasts the ball high over the bar.[LNB]26 Charles N'Zogbia carries the ball forward from the halfway line to the edge of the box under little pressure but then slices his shot wide of the post.[LNB]25 Figueroa needs treatment after picking up a knock but he will be able to continue.[LNB]24 Just as I say that, Blackburn almost score from a long throw into the box. McCarthy gets on the end of the throw and Cattermole, despite taking his time then slipping, manages to clear it off the line.[LNB]23 Kirkland punches clear another high Blackburn ball forward. Wigan have dealt with the aerial bombardment well so far.[LNB]21 Samba gets on the end of Warnock's cross at the back post but can't get enough power on the ball to trouble Kirkland.[LNB]19 Warnock heads Rodallega's cross behind for a Wigan corner. Pretty even game so far.[LNB]18 Hugo Rodallega is caught offside and Blackburn have a free-kick.[LNB]16 Robinson races out of his box to head clear a high ball forward from Wigan.[LNB]15 Antoher attack for Blackburn leads to another catch for Kirkland from McCarthy's cross this time.[LNB]14 Vincenzo Grella's cross is well held by Kirkland.[LNB]13 Another half-chance for Blackburn but Morten Gamst Pedersen's left-footed cross/shot evades everyone. He should have gone for goal there.[LNB]12 McCarthy then goes close for Rovers, forcing Chirs Kirkland to turn the ball round the post. Good save.[LNB]12 Great chance for Blackburn. A superb cross from deep into the box from Warnock falls to McCarthy but Titus Bramble manages to divert it behind for a corner.[LNB]11 Poor kick upfield by Robinson gives possession back to Wigan.[LNB]9 El-Hadji Diouf looks to get on the end of a high ball but Maynor Figueroa defends well.[LNB]8 Plenty of high balls being punted forward by Blackburn in the direction of Christopher Samba, that could be a theme throughout this game.[LNB]7 Stephen Warnock's chipped ball forward is cleared out of play by Emmerson Boyce.[LNB]6 Late challenge by Benni Mcarthy on Paul Scharner and Wigan have a free-kick.[LNB]5 Bright start to the game with both sides looking to get forward quickly at every opportunity.[LNB]3 So close to an opening goal for Wigan! Antonio Valencia bursts forward on the right before blasting a shot off the underside of Paul Robinson's crossbar.[LNB]2 Both sides are guilty of giving possession away cheaply in the early stages, perhaps a few nerves out there, especially in the home side.[LNB]1 Blackburn get the game under way at Ewood Park.[LNB] Blackurn are 10/11 to win the game with Wigan rated 13/5 shots and the draw 9/4.[LNB] Let me know your thoughts on the game at gareth.friel@bskyb.com.[LNB] Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce makes two changes from the side beaten by Stoke last weekend as his side look to take a giant stride towards Barclays Premier League survival with victory over Wigan at Ewood Park. Allardyce drafts in Tugay and Vince Grella for Aaron Mokoena and Keith Andrews respectively and, with striking options still limited by injuries, there is a chance big defender Chris Samba could start again up front. Wigan boss Steve Bruce also makea two changes after his side's home drubbing by Arsenal last week. Charles N'Zogbia and Lee Cattermole replace Michael Brown and Mario Melchiot as the Latics look for their first ever top-flight win at Rovers.[LNB] WIGAN: Kirkland, Boyce, Scharner, Bramble, Figueroa, Valencia, Watson, Cattermole, N'Zogbia, Mido, Rodallega.
