Blackburn waiting on fitness of Corry Evans ahead of Rotherham clash

Blackburn hope midfielder Corry Evans can shake off a groin problem to face Rotherham in Friday night's Sky Bet Championship clash at Ewood Park.

Defender Doneil Henry, on loan from West Ham, missed last week's 2-0 win at Bristol City with a tight hamstring and will not be rushed back into action early.

Midfielder Darragh Lenihan (back) is another who will be assessed.

Captain Grant Hanley shrugged off a knee problem to lead the side at Ashton Gate and is expected to retain his place in defence.

Forward Danny Ward is struggling for Rotherham after boss Neil Redfearn revealed he "took a whack" in the defeat to Wolves. "He's a big player for us and is difficult to replace," Redfearn said.

Stephen Kelly remains a doubt with a calf problem, although it is not as bad as first feared, while fellow full-back Joe Mattock is back in training after a hamstring strain and should be available.

Defender Farrend Rawson underwent minor surgery on a pubic bone problem recently and is closing in on a return, while Redfearn claims loan deadline-day signing Luke Hyam is "chomping at the bit" to start.

Another new arrival, Leon Best, sits out the final game of a three-match ban.
