Rovers won't risk Best
Leon Best might have to wait a little longer for his Blackburn debut as npower Championship basement boys Peterborough prepare to visit Ewood Park.
Best scored for Rovers' reserves earlier this week as he continued his rehabilitation from cruciate knee ligament damage sustained during pre-season but, as is common when returning from such injuries, the Republic of Ireland international is suffering from swelling around the joint.
"If Leon is physically okay and his knee is okay then I'd like to get him involved if I can," said boss Michael Appleton on Blackburn's official website.
"But every now and again his knee does get a little bit of swelling after certain training sessions, so again it will come down to the player.
"It is pretty much the norm, but the timing isn't great."
Fabio Nunes also featured for the second string following a hamstring injury lay-off and could come into contention, although fellow winger Josh King is a fortnight away due to a similar complaint.
Lee Williamson, Colin Kazim-Richards (both ankle), Martin Olsson (eye), Dickson Etuhu (knee), David Dunn (calf) and Paul Robinson (back) remain sidelined.
Peterborough are assessing Davide Petrucci.
Petrucci suffered a recurrence of the hamstring injury that kept him out of the previous two matches as Posh lost 1-0 to Bolton on Tuesday night, and he is a doubt.
Jack Payne impressed after replacing Petrucci just before half-time at the Reebok Stadium and he could start on Saturday should the on-loan Manchester United midfielder return to the sidelines.
Teenage left-back Kgosi Ntlhe could now be ready to return to the squad after a couple of run-outs for the reserves following a broken ankle.
Striker Tyrone Barnett may also come into contention after recovering from a knee injury.
