Loan duo miss out for Rovers

Blackburn will be without two Bolton loanees when Wanderers make the trip to Ewood Park for their rearranged Sky Bet Championship clash on Wednesday night.

Full-back Alex Baptiste and central midfielder Jay Spearing do not have permission to play against their parent club and although the latter was cup-tied for Sunday's FA Cup draw with Liverpool, Baptiste's absence means at least one change will come in defence.

Jason Lowe (foot) and Shane Duffy (knee) are out for the long term, while Grant Hanley (calf), Josh King (hamstring) and David Dunn (calf) will all be assessed after missing out at Anfield.

Manager Gary Bowyer made seven changes for Sunday's fixture and is likely to shuffle his pack again, with goalkeeper Jason Steele, new loan recruit Doneil Henry and striker Jordan Rhodes all set to come in.

Bolton will include new loan signings Giles Coke and Paddy McCarthy in their squad.

Midfielder Coke joined from Sheffield Wednesday last week while defender McCarthy arrived on Tuesday morning after Wanderers lost three players to long-term injuries in the first half of last week's draw with Reading.

Zach Clough (shoulder) and Kevin McNaughton (broken leg) have been ruled out for the season while David Wheater (hamstring) may struggle to play again this term, meaning boss Neil Lennon had to acquire two more loanees to bring his total up to nine.

Lennon hopes to have strike-pair Emile Heskey (calf) and Craig Davies (hamstring) back along with goalkeeper Andy Lonergan (concussion) - who may play instead of Ben Amos because Bolton can only have five loanees in their squad - but Max Clayton (knee), Darren Pratley (hamstring), Marc Tierney (leg), Mark Davies (knee), Liam Trotter (thigh) and Adam Bogdan (ankle) are still out.
