Blackburn to launch £8m bid for Graham Dorrans as West Brom look to free agent Ewerthon

Blackburn are ready to launch an £8million bid for West Bromwich Albion midfielder Graham Dorrans.

Thehighly-rated Scotland international was the subject of interest fromWest Ham last summer but signed a new four year contract after an offerof £5million was rejected.

The 23-year-old is a key figure inRoberto Di Matteo's plans and he would not allow him to leave lightlybut ambitious Blackburn are keen and could use striker El Hadji Dioufas part of negotiations.

Di Matteo has been looking to strengthen his squad rather than deplete it.Heis eager to bring in a defender with Chelsea's Jeffrey Bruma andLiverpool's Sotirios Krygiakos among his targets and is alsoconsidering a move for Brazilian striker Ewerthon.

Albion aredesperate for a striker after missing out to Stoke on John Carew lastweek and have posted an interest already in Diouf.

Di Matteois keen on the former Brazilian international - full name is EwerthonHenrique de Souza - who has a Spanish passport so will not require awork permit.

The 29-year-old is a free agent after beingreleased by Palmeiras and is looking for a return to Europe.Birmingham, Blackburn, Sunderland and West Ham have also beenapproached.

Ewerthon has a German league title under his belt and ChampionsLeague experience from a four year stint at Borussia Dortmund. He hasalso played in Spain with Real Zaragoza and Espanyol.

West Brom have also made an enquiry for former midfielder Zoltan Gera at Fulham.

The31-year-old Hungary international is ready to leave Craven Cottage andhas also been linked with Blackpool although no enquiry has been madeby Ian Holloway.

Holloway has completed the signing ofMorocco left-back Salaheddine Sbai on loan and the club was in talksover a similar deal for Zimbabwe and Plymouth defender Onismor Bhaseraalthough Crystal Palace have also shown interest.

Blackburn, meanwhile, have signed a pre-contract agreement with young Barcelona striker Ruben Rochina.
