Blackburn star held at knife point by thieves during night raid at his home

Blackburn Rovers midfielder Vince Grella was held at knife point in a raid at his home as four masked men broke into his home in Wilmslow, Cheshire, and demanded jewellery, watches and the keys to his car. Grella, 29, was left shaken but uninjured - his wife and daughters were out when it happened around 10pm on Sunday. The raid is just the latest in a long line of break-ins at footballers' homes in the area in the past two years. They included robbers targeting Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard's house when he was away with the club, knife raids at the homes of Emile Heskey and Roque Santa Cruz and an armed gang breaking into the home of Manchester United player Darren Fletcher.
