[LNB]Blackburn have signed Barcelona striker Ruben Rochina for an undisclosed fee, and have also bagged Argentinian midfielder Mauro Formica on a three-and-a-half-year deal. [LNB]The 19-year-old Rochina has signed a contract to keep him at Ewood Park until the summer of 2015. [LNB]Blackburn boss Steve Kean told www.rovers.co.uk: 'Ruben is a genuine addition to our senior squad, a young player with great ability who can play in a number of attacking positions.'[LNB]Rochina has scored twice in 13 appearances this season for Barcelona's B team, who play in the Spanish Segunda Division.[LNB]Born in Valencia, he was part of the Barcelona youth system for nearly seven years after joining them from his hometown club. [LNB]'The fact we are able to sign young players from the likes of Barcelona is further evidence of the owners' intention to push the club forward. [LNB]'They told me they were keen to add to our youth development group and this is a significant and exciting signing for us.' [LNB]He could come straight into contention for Wednesday's match against Tottenham, especially as Santa Cruz is a fitness doubt. [LNB]'He has great technical ability and is a typical Argentinian with a bit of fight and a bit of devilment in him.' [LNB]Santa Cruz suffered a groin injury in the FA Cup defeat by Aston Villa and is now doubtful for the trip to Wigan on Saturday as well as Wednesday's Ewood Park clash. [LNB]The striker, who is on loan from Manchester City until the end of the season, lasted only 10 minutes of the fourth round tie before limping off. [LNB]Kean said: 'Roque tweaked his groin. We got him off the pitch, iced up and hopefully it will settle down. 'I think he will be doubtful for the Tottenham game but hopefully he should be okay for Wigan.'[LNB] LIVE: Deadline day - follow all latest news as the January transfer window slams shutClub-by-club guide to every Premier League transfer deal during JanuarySamba does U-turn on Blackburn quit threat to sign new new deal[LNB] Explore more:People: Roque Santa Cruz, Jermaine Jones Places: Barcelona
