In wake of the Spanish club's mammoth spending so far this summer, the 33-year-old striker looks likely to be surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu and Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce is eager to re-introduce the former Manchester United player to the Premier League. Blackburn's interest has been made known to Van Nistelrooy who, should he agree to the move, must be prepared to take a significant drop in wages. Blackburn line up CrouchThe Dutchman is currently paid £120,000-a-week by Real and Allardyce has already said money is likely to be the deciding factor. "I think financially that would be pretty difficult for us to meet,' Allardyce told the Blackburn Citizen. 'I think that the sort of salary he would be earning at Real Madrid, unless Ruud wants to come and play in the Premier League again and wants to take less of a salary. Then I'd be interested. 'I wouldn't be able to match his salary at Real Madrid, even if there was no fee involved. But, yes, it would be of interest to me, there's no doubt about that. 'There's nothing from my point of view that would say I wouldn't want to talk to him if he wanted to come, but I've not enquired into that area. 'I think that would be some-thing of a major coup if you could do it, but very difficult.' Blackburn are in desperate need of a regular goal scorer following the departure of Roque Santa Cruz to Manchester City and as such have also invited veteran forward Christian Vieri to train at their Austrian training camp in order to assess his fitness.
