Blackburn boss Steve Kean focused on Chelsea despite fans' protests
Under-fire Blackburn boss Steve Kean is focused on dealing with a potential Chelsea backlash instead of off-the-pitch protests. [LNB]Rovers have banned fans from bringing banners into Ewood Park before and during Saturday's game as they continue to call for Kean to be sacked.[LNB] Blackburn are 18th in the Barclays Premier League standings with only six points to show from their opening 10 games. [LNB] Start of something? Steve Kean is looking to build on two decent results[LNB]However, last week they ended Newcastle's unbeaten start to the season in the 4-3 Carling Cup win before a stoppage-time penalty denied them an away win over Norwich in the Premier League on Saturday. [LNB]Kean insists the team is not distracted by the ongoing dispute and is looking to build on the strong performances to beat the Blues, who have also been the focus of media attention in the wake of the racism allegations against John Terry. [LNB]'We've got a good group of players and they can put these type of things to the back of their minds,' said Kean of recent protests by fans. 'They're professional players and the directors have taken a stance. [LNB] Demonstration: Blackburn fans have protested against Kean's rule[LNB]'That's great because we believe it's the majority of fans we should hear, and the majority of the fans are supporting the side and myself - so the minority, the fact that they can't bring any banners in is great. [LNB]'It's been rumbling on for a few games so I'm letting everyone at the stadium, the directors and people behind the scenes, deal with that. [LNB]'We're focusing on performances. All that stuff we've put out of our minds to be honest.'[LNB] But Kean is wary Andre Villas-Boas' Chelsea side will travel to Ewood Park with a point to prove after they drew 1-1 with Genk in the Champions League this week and are facing the unwanted glare of a police investigation. [LNB] And you think you've got problems: Chelsea and John Terry are up next[LNB]'You've always got to be wary of a backlash,' Kean said. 'We'll just be worried about what we do as a side and how we impose ourselves on top of Chelsea. [LNB]'I think we'll go into this game full of confidence after what we think should have been back-to-back wins. [LNB]'We've only lost one in four and we've scored eight goals in the last three games. We now need to continue and get that clean sheet. [LNB]'I don't think they will look forward to coming to Ewood because we're playing well and I think it will be a very tough game for them.'
