Black eye won't stop Lowe

Blackburn's Jason Lowe has declared himself fit to make an immediate return to the team.

Lowe was carried off on a stretcher in the closing seconds of Sunday's 2-1 Barclays Premier League defeat at Sunderland after sustaining a head injury in a collision with Black Cats midfielder Sebastian Larsson.

The 20-year-old is sporting a black eye but says he is available for Saturday's clash with West Brom at Ewood Park, telling Rovers Player: "I'm absolutely fine."

He added: "These things happen in football - clashes of heads, elbows - but you just get on with it and I'm fine.

"I felt it to say the least as soon as it had happened, but after a few stitches and a few bruises I'm just getting on with it.

"As far as I'm aware I'll be up for selection, training and looking forward to the game."

Rovers trio Gael Givet (heart palpitations), Martin Olsson (hamstring) and Michel Salgado (ribs) also went off at the Stadium of Light and are being assessed by the club this week.
