In short supply: Blackburn have found success hard to come by this season[LNB]Steve Kean has asked Blackburn's four wise men to help him save Rovers from the drop.[LNB] The rookie boss set up a committee of senior players to help guide the club through their relegation battle when he took over at Ewood Park.[LNB] Now experienced quartet Chris Samba, Ryan Nelsen, David Dunn and Paul Robinson regularly hold chats in the manager's office, discussing such things as what time their wives would like them to begin training.[LNB] And the committee met last night with Kean desperate to ensure his players are up for the home crunch clash with Birmingham.[LNB] He said: 'We have got a senior group that I bring in and talk to once every two or three weeks, not only just about the games but every aspect of football life.[LNB] 'It's like a senior committee. It's not just how we are doing in games.[LNB] 'Chris Samba, Ryan Nelsen, David Dunn and Paul Robinson have been here for a number of years and played at the highest level.[LNB] 'They have been in every part of the league and I give them info in more detail because they can comprehend the enormity of where we are in the league.[LNB] 'We have a group with great spirit and awareness and it is about radiating that back through the younger guys. What the senior group will do is mention if there are any issues. Sometimes it's tiny things like asking if we can start training every day at the same time.[LNB] Denied: Blackburn beat Birmingham at St Andrews earlier in the season despite Morten Gamst Pedersen's penalty miss[LNB]'In the past we would start at half 10 and other days it would be 11, and that probably upsets their wives more if they are being honest.'[LNB] While he is leaning on the old boys, Kean believes it's his feisty young guns who will fire Rovers to safety. Fearless trio Phil Jones, Junior Hoilett and Martin Olsson have breathed life into an ageing team in recent weeks.[LNB] And Kean added: 'It is easier for the young boys because they are probably having their first taste of the first team.[LNB] 'It might be different for the senior guys. They call on their experience. They have been there and done it from European campaigns to being near the bottom and pushing for cup finals. You use the young lads as the explosive and dynamic part.'[LNB] Allardyce sticks the boot in with claim Blackburn would be better off with himBLACKBURN v Birmingham: Pedersen to return following illnessKean reveals Blackburn will tour India and Hong Kong this summerAll the latest Blackburn news, features and opinion[LNB] [LNB]  Explore more:People: Paul Robinson, Ryan Nelsen, Martin Olsson, David Dunn Places: Birmingham
