The two men have differing views on the way the game should be played, with Allardyce's no-nonsense approach in stark contrast to the ethos of Mowbray, who favours a flowing passing game. Speaking ahead of their meeting on the final day of the Premier League season on Sunday, Allardyce said: "I am an admirer of Tony. "He has stuck to his principles. But, as far as I am concerned, it is all about staying in the Premier League." Allardyce added: "The fact is West Brom did not have the budget and that's why they have slipped back down. "But you cannot blame the club for that - they just wanted to function within their financial means."
