Big Sam won't dismantle squad

Sam Allardyce has insisted he does not plan to get rid of any of his Blackburn players this summer. Reports over the weekend suggested there could be a mass exodus from Ewood Park during the transfer window as Allardyce looks ahead to the 2009/10 campaign. However, Allardyce maintains that his quotes have been taken out of context and he is not in fact thinking of making wholesale changes. The Rovers boss hopes to strengthen his squad and realises he cannot do that by letting any of his major players go. "We are looking to build a squad here, rather than dismantle one, so no-one will be leaving this summer unless I feel it is in the best interests of this football club," he told Blackburn's official website. "I've made no secret of the fact there is some rebuilding work to be done so, to that end, there will be some comings and goings. "However, the plan is to build a team around some of the key players we already have here. "The majority of them are on decent length contracts so I'm quiet relaxed about the situation."
