Big Sam out to stop Gunners

Sam Allardyce believes his Blackburn side must stop Arsenal playing if they are to get a result at the Emirates on Saturday.[LNB] Rovers achieved a morale-boosting victory away at Fulham on Wednesday to lift them out of the bottom three and their boss insists his side are full of confidence.[LNB]Blackburn's last league success at Arsenal came in October 2002 thanks to a Dwight Yorke strike just after half-time under ex-manager Graeme Souness.[LNB]Former Bolton and Newcastle boss Allardyce will know the importance of the need to build on the 2-1 win in midweek over the Cottagers as he attempts to hatch a plan to stop the Gunners.[LNB]"It gives us extra confidence (winning at Fulham) and the Emirates is a fantastic venue to play on or to play in," he told Sky Sports News.[LNB]"But you must realise what the opposition have in their locker and we have got to set out a game plan to make sure they are not able to enjoy what they want to do.[LNB]Possession"That is retaining possession of the ball as they do and moving it around if and when they feel like it. [LNB]"If we can manage that side of it then we can have an opportunity to hopefully get a result there which would be a massive bonus on top of the Fulham result."[LNB]But Rovers are not the only side going into the game on a high. Arsene Wenger's side knocked out Roma on penalties on Wednesday to book their place in the UEFA Champions League last eight.[LNB]Despite this Allardyce is quick to point out that his team could take advantage of the fact that the Gunners could feel the effects of their exertions in midweek. [LNB]"I think you could see the delight on Arsene Wenger's and the players' faces by the way that they got through so I think certainly when the game starts they will be right up for it," he added.[LNB]"If there is going to be any fatigue in the side it's going to happen later on so we may have to make sure we stay in the game for the later stages to see if they do fatigue and take advantage of that."[LNB]
