lackburn manager Sam Allardyce was pleased to see Rovers end their pre-season trip to Australia with a victory.[LNB] Rovers defeated host club Sydney FC 2-1 in the final game of the 2010 Sydney Festival of Football.[LNB]Speaking after the game, Allardyce felt that being able to play more experienced players proved to be the difference as goals coming from Brett Emerton and Morten Gamst Pedersen saw Rovers end the four team contest as runners up.[LNB]"In the first half we were in control of the game," Allardyce told the club's official website. "But we expected that with the side that we had out this time.[LNB]"I think that as the game wore on we got a little tired and Sydney came on stronger.[LNB]"It was a better performance from us, some players gained a little bit of game time that they haven't had since the World Cup like Vince, Ryan and Brett who scored a good goal.[LNB]"So that little bit more experience gave us the upper hand in the game and it was a good performance from ourselves and a spirited performance from Sydney."[LNB]Rovers jet back to the UK on Sunday and spend a week training at Brockhall before they travel to Scotland for next weekend's matches against Hearts and Celtic.
