Best Says Dont Lose Hope

Blackburn striker Leon Best says he sympathises with the fans but hopes they will not lose hope of the side making a return to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

The 26-year-old has still to make his debut for Rovers since joining the club from Newcastle in the summer, but that is still some way off with his eta being next year.

But Best does feel that now Steve Kean has left the club and Henning Berg has been installed, it won be too long before Rovers are flying and once again giving the crowds something to shout about.

He told the Lancashire Telegraph: "I understand why some fans get upset and want to show their anger. Everyone just wants us to go up; we all want the same thing.

"The season I went up with Newcastle, when we played at home the fans were the 12th man. Sometimes that is what you need.

"We have been up and down. I have very high expectations of the team and I expect the highest. It is a very hard league but it is unbelievable seeing the fans coming back because I think that is vital."
