Allardyce targets lower clubs

Sam Allardyce admits that Blackburn's fate this season will be not be decided by results against the bigger clubs following Saturday's defeat by Manchester City. Mark Hughes' expensively-assembled squad eased to a 2-0 opening-day victory at Ewood Park, but Allardyce believes that Rovers' quest to prosper this season will be decided by how they perform against the lesser clubs. "When we come up against a team who are not as good as we are, we have to enjoy it and try to get some points because that will be our bread and butter," said the Rovers chief. "If we can get the odd shock result against one of the big boys we will regard it as a bonus."
