Allardyce - Rovers can survive

Sam Allardyce has backed his team to beat the drop following their 2-1 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage on Wednesday.[LNB] Rovers entered the game third from bottom in a tight relegation battle and fell behind early on. But second half strikes from El-Hadji Diouf and Jason Roberts overturned Clint Dempsey's opener.[LNB]The win was Rovers' second away from home on the spin which has rejuvenated their hopes of survival, and Allardyce is confident his side have what it takes.[LNB]"That's two defeats now in 11 games since I've been here and we've had two away wins on the bounce - that shows we are gathering enough points to get us out of trouble," said Allardyce.[LNB]"It's important the results and the form keep coming. As long as we are carrying on in that vein, the sooner we can try and get to safety.[LNB]"Gifting that goal in the first half made it very difficult for us but games are 95 minutes now and at the end of that 95 minutes it said, Fulham 1 Blackburn 2.[LNB]"That's a result I feel we thoroughly deserved. We're a team in good form on the way up rather than some of the teams around us who are in poor form and sliding down."[LNB]Allardyce was keen to point out the influence Steven Warnock has had in their recent burst of form. The left-back has been deployed as a makeshift central midfielder in recent weeks, and the Rovers boss has been more than impressed.[LNB]"Stephen has been our driving force. He's been a revelation since we put him infield. The only thing missing for him was a well-deserved goal.[LNB]"His performances drive the whole team at the moment but it doesn't matter who scores as long as we get the victory and we did that."[LNB]
