Allardyce: Places are up for grabs

21 September 2009 08:02
Blackburn boss Sam Allardyce revealed only Chris Samba and Paul Robinson deserve to keep their place in the side after they were beaten 3-0 at Everton. Louis Saha scored twice and Joseph Yobo was also on target as the Toffees cruised to victory at Goodison Park. Allardyce will now make changes for Tuesday's Carling Cup tie at Nottingham Forest and insists shirts are now up for grabs against Aston Villa in the league next weekend. He said: "No player deserves to keep their shirts for the midweek Carling Cup game(at Nottingham Forest), apart from Chris Samba and Paul Robinson. "The team defended poorly after we had worked hard on the training ground to counter what Everton do. "(Everton full-back) Leighton Baines has a good delivery from wide areas, we worked on those things and they did not seem to take any notice of any of that."
