lackburn boss Sam Allardyce has warned Benni McCarthy that he risks missing out on the 2010 World Cup unless his fitness levels improve.[LNB] The South African striker, 31, has been in excellent form since Allardyce was appointed at Ewood Park, with six goals in nine games helping Rovers to steadily climb the table.[LNB]But Allardyce has reservations about how McCarthy looks after himself and is eager for the player to watch his fitness levels, especially given his dream of playing at the World Cup in his homeland next year.[LNB]"Benni sometimes is his own worst enemy," said Allardyce in The Sun.[LNB]"A very talented player not quite at the fitness levels he could be at.[LNB]"Get that right and he plays more and more. Benni's been up and down too much.[LNB]"He was on a massive up, then he's been on a massive down for too long.[LNB]"At his age he has to be spot on, as fit as he can be. If he wants to produce his best that is the key element to having a career for as long as he wants." [LNB]
