Allardyce issues warning to Brown

Allardyce's Rovers pulled Brown's struggling side further into scrap for survival at the bottom of the Premier League with a 2-1 win at the KC Stadium in a crucial six-pointer on Sunday. Hull have been in freefall since November having won just one of their last 18 games and are now just three points above the bottom three. Rovers remain in greater danger but they are now out of the relegation zone and their form is much better having won three and lost only two of nine under Allardyce. Allardyce, who worked with Brown for six years at Bolton, said: "Winning becomes a habit and unfortunately losing becomes a habit, fear can overtake you. "Where they [Hull] had no fear in the early part of the season and the goals were flooding in and results were coming, now it's not quite as easy for them. "The players are giving their all and that's all he can ask. He's just got to hope he gets a break somewhere along the way." But he added: "Once it comes and it goes, you can't keep making excuses. "You have got to keep trying to get the three points when and wherever you can, whether it is at home or away." Blackburn's victory was set up after two goals in the space of as many minutes from Stephen Warnock and Keith Andrews late in the first half. Ian Ashbee gave Hull hope 12 minutes from time but substitute goalkeeper Jason Brown produced a fine injury-time save to deny Andy Dawson a late equaliser. It was Allardyce's first away win since taking charge in December and he feels it will stand his side in good stead. He said: "We should have had many more victories away from home but we have only lost one since I've been here and that was at Manchester United. "We'd drawn all the rest but we've now laid that bogey to rest and got a very valuable three points. "Wednesday is Everton at home but that is followed by Fulham away and Arsenal away, so it is a very important victory for us." Jason Brown came on as a half-time replacement for Paul Robinson, who was injured in a collision with Michael Turner. He was sent to hospital for precautionary X-rays on his chest and shoulder but Allardyce did not believe the injury to be serious and expects him back in midweek. Hull are also back in action on Wednesday at Fulham and manager Brown remains confident that the team are capable of getting themselves out of trouble. Brown said: "There are 11 games to go, we are still in a positive predicament compared to when we lost six on the bounce. "The first 30 minutes of the game, the confidence and belief was there but we need to minimise mistakes to keep that belief." In an eventful game which saw Dean Marney sent off for Hull and Morten Gamst Pedersen for the visitors, Brown was also booed by supporters for substituting playmaker Geovanni. The Brazilian, who has not scored since November, was replaced by Nick Barmby early in the second half in a double substitution that also saw Daniel Cousin enter the fray. Brown said: "At the end of the day I am there to make big decisions. If they don't like it, they don't like it. There is nothing I can do about that. "I think the positive impact of the two players coming on was there for me to see, maybe for them as well." Blackburn 13/8, Everton 7/4, Draw 11/5
