Yeung linked with Blues bid

Hong Kong businessman Carson Yeung is believed to be the mystery buyer interested in taking over Birmingham City.
Yeung was unsuccessful in a bid to buy City's Premier League rivals Reading earlier this year, but has reportedly sent representatives to St Andrew's to discuss a potential purchase of the Blues.
Indian steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal had previously been linked with a potential takeover of the club.
Current Blues owners David Sullivan and David and Ralph Gold are reportedly happy that Yeung has the funds to complete a £50million buyout and also invest enough money to help manager Steve Bruce shape his squad for the forthcoming Premier League campaign.
Earlier in the week, City revealed they were at a 'preliminary stage' in discussing a potential takeover bid.
"The directors have noted the recent movement in the share price and the press speculation and confirm that they have had an approach with regard to a possible acquisition of the issued share capital which may or may not lead to an offer for the company," confirmed a statement to the Stock Exchange.
"Such discussions are at a very preliminary stage and the directors note that there is no certainty that a transaction will result from the approach."
