Birmingham City co-owner David Gold insists Alex McLeish will remain manager next season even if the club are in the Championship.
Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Fulham left the Blues in the bottom three with only next week's game against Blackburn Rovers at St Andrew's to come.
Even a victory in that match will not stop City making an immediate return to the Championship, but Gold told the BBC: "If Birmingham are relegated we'll stick with Alex.
"The tradition of Birmingham is that in the board's 16 years in charge we've only fired two managers.
"We've great faith and believe in Alex and his backroom staff.
"We couldn't hang on to Steve Bruce (earlier in the season). We needed to enhance his contact and the takeover board refused permission to do that.
"There's no doubt the board made mistakes in allowing the takeover to take three months to collapse. Had we realised earlier that it was going to collapse we could have acted.
"Now we'd only sell the club to a seriously wealthy potential owner who's capable of taking it further.
"We'd want an owner who can challenge the top six otherwise there's no point changing. But we're not actively looking."
