Birmingham City matchwinner Rowan Vine earned high praise from manager Steve Bruce after his first Blues goal secured a crucial 1-0 home victory over Derby County.
Vine scored the only goal of the game right on half-time, having previously failed to find the net in eight outings since his £2.5million move from Luton Town in January.
Bruce said: "We probably paid over the odds for Rowan Vine, but he repaid part of that fee with his goal.
"I thought he was excellent against Cardiff last Sunday and gave another impressive performance against Derby.
"I think he is going to be a huge favourite with the crowd with the way he plays. If he can nick another couple of goals he will do us a huge favour.
"It's been a bit of a stop-start for him since he came from Luton, but his contribution to the team and the dressing room has been very good."
