Robins bartering over Butland

eague Two club Cheltenham are in negotiations to extend the loan of young goalkeeper Jack Butland from Birmingham. Butland, who is currently away on England Under-21 duty in Iceland, arrived at the Abbey Business Stadium on September 8 and soon established himself as the Robins' number one, ousting the more experienced Scott Brown. The 18-year-old's one-month deal is set to expire on Saturday following Cheltenham's clash with Dagenham - a game he will miss due to his international commitments. But manager Mark Yates hopes to tie him down to a longer spell in Gloucestershire, and is speaking with the Blues regarding the possibility of an extension.
