Nikola Zigic is a striker who signed for Birmingham City in the summer of 2010. Nikola is one of the tallest players in English football and as well as being effective in the air he has a good touch and can bring his colleagues into play. He was often used from the bench early on for Blues but was a regular in the matchday squad for much of the season, having the distinction of scoring the team?s opening goal in the Carling Cup final victory over Arsenal. However, soon afterwards he was sidelined by injury and did not feature again after the beginning of April. Nikola began his career in Serbia and after earning a reputation as a goalscorer for Red Star Belgrade he earned a move to Spain, where he turned out for Valencia and Racing Santander. Nikola has over 40 caps for Serbia and featured in the squad for the 2010 World Cup finals.
