Phillips frustrated at Blues

Striker Kevin Phillips has revealed his frustration at a lack of first-team action with Birmingham City this season.

Phillips, 36, came off the bench to score in last weekend's Premier League defeat to Bolton Wanderers, but has been used sparingly by Blues boss Alex McLeish this season.

The former Sunderland, Aston Villa and West Brom striker has started just one league game this term and has admitted he is unhappy at finding himself well down the pecking order at St Andrew's.

"I want to score goals and I've said how frustrated I am," he said.

"I'd like to play more minutes on the pitch, but that's the manager's decision.

"All I can do when I come on is try my hardest and try to score goals and give the manager a bit of a problem and hopefully I've done that."
