Birmingham City manager Alex McLeish is concerned that Stuart Parnaby picked up a hamstring injury during Tuesday's pre-season victory against MK Dons.
It is a blow for the Blues as former Middlesbrough star Parnaby was standing in for Stephen Carr who is struggling with the toe injury he sustained during training.
Right-back Parnaby had to be substituted after 35 minutes after picking up a hamstring problem in the 3-2 victory.
McLeish confirmed: "We've picked up a couple of casualties. Stevie Carr has a toe injury and Stuart Parnaby tore some fibres in his hamstring, which will probably be a ten-day job.
"I hope to goodness that Stuart's not plagued with injuries like last year. So touch wood with that one.
"Certainly he felt, with some treatment he got towards the end of last season, he was over all that."
Meanwhile, McLeish continues to be linked with Crystal Palace right-back Nathan Clyne and a possible loan move for Juventus defender Fabio Grosso.
