O'Connor makes Oakwell loan switch

irmingham striker Garry O'Connor has joined Championship side Barnsley on a one-month emergency loan deal. The Scottish forward penned a new six-month deal in the summer in a bid to prove his fitness following an injury-hit season last term. He has figured twice so far this campaign for Alex McLeish's side. Confirming the news on their website, Barnsley described the swoop as "sensational" and revealed an option to extend the loan beyond a month. Birmingham also confirmed youngster Jordon Mutch's loan at Watford has been extended until January 2011.
