Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish admits that he is still unsure whether he will be successful in his attempts to sign highly-rated striker Moussa Dembele from Dutch outfit AZ Alkmaar.
The 23-year-old Belgium international is a target for a number of clubs, despite having hinted at being set to join the Blues.
McLeish told reporters: "Dembele is top quality, but I'm advertising him to everyone else by speaking about him.
"It's difficult when someone has got options and he is a top player. The player maybe knows as well.
"To bring in those kind of guys, to attract those kind of players to Birmingham, obviously there's a lot of money involved and, at times, big wage demands.
"But that's the ambitions I have and I would like to try and attract quality to this football team, enhance the quality factor in the team we already have."
Dembele had previously told Birmingham Mail: "The Premier League is the strongest in the world. I know I can be successful in a big league.
"Birmingham City is the most concrete option, but other clubs have also shown an interest. I have waited for more opportunities and now I have to look at the pros and the cons."
