On-loan Birmingham City goalkeeper Joe Hart has been warned to cut out the mistakes if he wants to secure a place in England's squad for next summer's World Cup finals.
The 22-year-old, who has joined City on a season-long deal from Manchester City, was at fault for Sunderland's goal in the Blues' 2-1 win at St Andrew's last weekend.
That prompted manager Alex McLeish to comment: "Joe had a lack of action in the game and goalkeepers sometimes get a bit impetuous.
"He maybe came into an area where he didn't need to come. It is just typical of a keeper that they feel 'I've got to do something and get involved in the game'.
"He is disappointed. He beats himself up and he really cares, but he knows these mistakes in the Premier League are highlighted.
"If he is going to go to the World Cup with England, he has got to improve on that side of things."
