Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish has warned his players they will not win promotion if they continue to play as they did in last weekend's draw with Nottingham Forest.
The Blues have slipped six points off the pace set by Championship leaders Wolves in recent weeks with Saturday's 1-1 draw at the City Ground following back-to-back defeats to QPR and Coventry City.
"We won't get promoted with the performance we produced against Nottingham Forest," McLeish told the Birmingham Mail.
"If we are consistently playing to that level then we won't make it. I don't want to take anything away from Forest because they were excellent but we can't afford to play at that level.
"We have had disruptions to the personnel over the last two or three weeks, I thought we would have handled it better than we have done."
