Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish was delighted after seeing his side boost their automatic promotion hopes with a hard-fought 1-0 win at Watford. A Cameron Jerome goal proved decisive at Vicarage Road as the Blues edged nearer to a Premier League return. McLeish told the club's official website: "Watford were always going to be a tough nut to crack, but we started with the right approach and had it not been for some tremendous saves from the keeper, we'd have gone in ahead at the break. "After the interval they came back at us, but we defended resolutely and what shone through was how we dealt with the pressure. "We kept calm heads, kept working hard and Cameron's goal won it for us. "We have to fully focus on picking up our results and not worry about what's going on elsewhere - that's what we intend to do."
