Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish has refused to get carried away by his side's lowly standing down in the relegation zone in the Premier League.
The Blues have won just twice in 13 league games so far this season, but McLeish is still confident of an upturn in fortunes and a move away from potential danger.
He told the club's official website: "I don't think we can ever say we're going to be in the top ten and safe every single season, because we're still developing as a Premier League team.
"I don't like to use the word relegation and certainly not at this particular juncture. It's far too premature.
"The media like to spin it a little bit and we accept that as part of the game. We've got to show our mettle and steel against that kind of situation.
"But we've got plenty of points to play for and we're in a half decent position, although we'd like to be further up the table."
