McFadden looks to banish Blues

Despite occupying one of the two automatic promotion places in the Championship for the majority of the campaign, it has been a tough season for those in B9. Birmingham have been criticised for their style of play at times, failing to show the same attacking intent as their promotion rivals, unrest in the stands has been voiced at those both on the pitch and in the boardroom, while Alex McLeish has also come under fire on occasion. But should the Blues boss guide his side - which has been decimated by injury for large parts of the season - to 83 points come Saturday evening, then the remit he was handed in his first full season in charge at St Andrew's will have been achieved. And for McFadden, who has been one of the players hardest hit by injury, it would be the perfect ending. He said: "It has been frustrating. I've had a few injuries, at times we've not done as well as we should have done, personally I've not been playing as well as I should be playing either. But all will be forgotten if we get the right result on Saturday. "This is the one we've been waiting for, at the end of the day it's a game of football and we need to make sure we win it."
