Lewandowski set for Fulham switch as Cottagers close in on loan deal

Fulham are reportedly closing in on a loan deal for Poland striker Robert Lewandowski. The Lech Poznan hitman could join to the end of the season, with an option to make the deal permanent for a player who was recently linked with a £6.25million move to Shakhtar Donetsk. The 21-year-old, who has bagged three goals in 16 matches for Poland, is the highest scorer in his domestic league this season, with nine in 16 appearances. He said: 'It's true, there is interest on the part of the club. We are expecting a concrete offer soon.' The powerful, 6ft Lewandowski has also been linked to Birmingham City and Borussia Dortmund. Fulham have previously scouted Wisla Krakow's Pawel Brozek, but summer reports of a £3.5m move to Craven Cottage failed to materialise.
