Larsson told to stay with City

Unsettled Birmingham City midfielder Sebastian Larsson has been told by manager Alex McLeish that he will be staying at the Midlands club.

"Will he be staying? Yes, I definitely think so," McLeish told the Birmingham Mail.

The Scotsman's comments come just days after Sweden international Larsson announced his interest in moving back to the Premier League, following City's relegation last term.

"You can never say or never can tell in football, but I would say that it's a certainty he will be staying, at least for this season," the former Rangers boss added.

"But I think that he's totally committed. If he goes out on that field, he's totally committed to the Birmingham fans and Birmingham City Football Club."
