Kingson relief lifts Blues
27 Sep 2007 - 15:58:15
Birmingham City have confirmed that goalkeeper Richard Kingson suffered no serious injury despite being stretchered from the pitch during their Carling Cup defeat at Blackburn.
The Ghana keeper picked up a head injury after colliding with a post during the 3-0 defeat at Ewood Park.
But despite being taken to hospital after receiving lengthy treatment on the pitch, Kingson has been given the all-clear after scans revealed no serious injury.
"Richard returned from hospital in time to join up with us on the team coach after the game," manager Steve Bruce told the club's official website.
"He was a little bit dazed and confused, but that is understandable.
"He has had all the relevant tests as a precaution but he is absolutely fine and there is no serious injury.
"I am delighted and relieved that he is absolutely fine."
