Kilkenny set for talks

Birmingham City manager Steve Bruce is keen to open new contract talks with teenage midfielder Neil Kilkenny.

The 19-year-old was sent off for deliberate handball on his Premiership debut against Liverpool on Saturday, but Bruce is a big fan of the youngster.

"We're going to open up discussions about a new contract and get something sorted out," he said.

"I've already had a conversation about it with our managing director Karren Brady."

Kilkenny misses Sunday's Premiership clash against Arsenal at Highbury as he will be serving an automatic one-match for the red card in the 2-2 draw.

Kilkenny scored four goals in 27 League appearances while on loan at Oldham Athletic last season.
