Birmingham City will be without Olivier Kapo for around a month after the midfielder suffered a hamstring injury during Saturday's 2-2 draw with Arsenal.
Kapo was making his comeback from injury against the Gunners, but was replaced on the hour-mark with the Blues already reduced to ten men following the first-half dismissal of Martin Taylor.
The former Auxerre, Juventus and Monaco midfielder has made 23 appearances for the St Andrew's club during an injury-plagued first season in the Premier League.
"Kapo is out for four weeks with a hamstring injury. I think playing with ten men put an extra strain on all of the players," manager Alex McLeish told the club's official website.
"Kapo was key for us in the first half, because he provided a great outlet for Maik Taylor and he also won an awful lot of balls in the air for us and kept the ball alive for us in the first half.
"In other circumstances the ball may have just kept coming back into our half and putting us under more pressure."
Meanwhile, McLeish has also revealed that Liam Ridgewell is a doubt for Saturday's clash with Spurs after suffering an ankle problem.
He added: "He'll train on Friday and we will make a final decision on Saturday and give him until the last minute.
"But we have got cover with players like Radhi Jaidi to come back in and Franck Queudrue who can play at centre-half as well.
"Stephen Kelly also came in and did a good job as a centre-half against Arsenal."
