Birmingham City captain Damien Johnson has signed a new contract with the Championship promotion chasers. The 28-year-old has penned a three-year deal that will keep him at St Andrew's until June 2010. Johnson is currently sidelined with a broken jaw but hopes to return to action before the start of the busy festive programme. He has made 168 appearances for the Blues since his transfer from Blackburn Rovers almost five years ago.
