Birmingham City striker Cameron Jerome has been drafted into the England Under-21 squad after three players pulled out of Tuesday's game against Spain. Blackburn Rovers striker Matt Derbyshire, Wigan Athletic full-back Leighton Baines and Middlesbrough midfielder Lee Cattermole have all been forced to drop out of the Pride Park clash because of injuries. "It should be a cracking game," said Sir Trevor Brooking, The FA's Director of Football Development. "There are some really exciting players to look out for. "I thought that we showed some great character to get through the qualifiers, especially beating Switzerland when they had five senior players in the side. "We have a tough group in the Finals, with Italy, Serbia and the Czech Republic, but let's hope they can really show their potential in those games."
