Gold leaves Birmingham after rejecting offer from new owner

David Gold is to leave Birmingham City after failing to agree on a role with the club's new owner Carson Yeung. Gold, Birmingham chairman for the past 12 years, had wanted to stay on in the position after selling his stake in the club to Yeung for £10.6m. But Yeung has earmarked his associate Vico Hui to become chairman and Gold rejected the role of vice-president at St Andrews.
